Hi friends, its been a hot minute since I have been on here. Can you believe its march already. We love march at our house and let me tell you why.

My firstborn turned five this month. What the what!? How is that possible? I can remember bringing him home to our Seattle house. New parents navigating uncharted waters. The baby books never prepare you for motherhood. You think you are prepared and then they give you that baby and you forget everything that you have read in the last nine months.

This little big person is going to be dealing with a lot of changes this summer. Moving across the country and starting at a new school in the fall. He will be starting Kindergarten this year and that means school all day. This was also our last birthday celebration in Milwaukee. Time is just flying by friends and before we know it we are going to be heading out west.

So here are some pictures of his special day. It was super low key. I didn't stress about decorations this year and even went minimal on the food prep. We ordered Portillos for lunch and had cake and  Purple door ice cream for dessert. Good food. Good company. It was a great day.

This big boy gets to go to Disneyland with his grandparents next month. They have done it for all the grandkids when they turn five. He opened the big box below that had a Mickey mouse ballon with a gift card attached that he gets to cash in when he gets there. He's already got a snazzy new luggage bag picked out and I have to get him some summer clothes because apparently winter is not over here in the midwest quite yet.

Christmas 2016

Fun family traditions

Today I am sharing some pictures from our christmas 2016 celebrations. Yes, I realize we are in January of 2017 but christmas is such a busy time of the year I never got a chance to share these with you all.

Here is a little glimpse into us making ornaments, decorating christmas cookies for santa, trying to capture some decent pictures of the boys in their christmas Pj's, and opening their presents.

My one regret is not getting a picture of all of us as a family. I always get too busy with capturing the moments of the boys that I forget other items on my to-snap list.

Hoping that you all had a lovely christmas. This was our last christmas in the midwest because next year we will be in California. We move in June so stay tuned for more updates.

Fall Family pictures

Well we did it. We got some decent pictures as a family for our christmas card this year. I am so happy that we were able to make it happen. Last year and the year before I procrastinated and before I knew it there was snow on the ground and too cold for pictures outside. Don't get me wrong pictures in the snow are pretty but fall is my favorite season for pictures. The weather in Milwaukee has started to cool off and winter is definitely coming.

The day we took these pictures was super windy and chilly. Even though I was freezing I couldn't bare to make the boys take their jackets off. We tried to be as quick as possible but still froze our tails off. All in order to get some great pictures. Yes, it was worth it.

I also wanted to capture some pictures of my in-laws with the boys because I love the colors in the fall and this is our last one here since we move next summer. Stay tuned because we don't even know where we are moving yet. I am both anxious and excited, but part of me just wants to know where we are moving I can start planning. I will be sharing where we move once we know. In the mean time enjoy our family pics and have a happy day.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

October Musts

October has got to be one of my favorite months. The weather is a perfect in between summer and fall. The mornings are cool and then sun warms up as the day goes on. We really enjoy taking the boys to a pumpkin patch this  month. This is our second year going to the same one and it really is the best one for little ones. They have loads of things to keep them entertained. We went during the week to avoid the crowds and it was truly the best. I was able to snap away without worrying about someone getting in my shot.

Another reason why I love October is all of the leaves. The vibrant reds, oranges and yellows I see everywhere I look. It won't last but I am trying to capture it all and hold onto it so I can get through winter. Winters in the Midwest are long and cold. By the time April comes we are all just over the cold and snow.

Getting back to these pictures, the boys were exhausted and both fell asleep on the way home. That in my book is a total success.

I am trying to get back to blogging more frequently but don't hold me to it just yet. I am trying my best. Have a wonderful October and an awesome halloween.

Have you heard the saying, "April showers bring May flowers". Well around here that is definitely true. In May, everything started blooming and I couldn't be more happy about it. Taking pictures of flowers has to be one of my absolute favorites.

May was a good month, we celebrated mothers day and it officially started to feel like summer. I tackled painting my baseboard heaters, and always amazed at what a difference paint makes.
